SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter Electrician’s Kit Details
The SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter Electrician’s Kit consists of the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter, a Carry Bag, a 100mm Signal Clamp and a 3-Pin Plug Connector. Please see the descriptions below for further information regarding the products included in this kit.
SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter Description
The SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter can be used to locate services and reduce the strike rate of electricians carrying out work. It can be used with cable locators capable of receiving 33kHz signals, such as TOMKAT S2 and V2 Pipe and Cable Locators, to identify the location of cables and pipes.
To facilitates this instrument’s detection capabilities it is supplied, as standard, with an earth stake and connection leads. It is also supplied with a manufacturer’s calibration to ensure reliability and functionality.
Additionally, the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter is fitted with eight AA batteries proving the instrument with up to forty hours of continuous power. The absence of an audible tone indicates that the batteries require replacing.
The long operating time of the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter adds to its practicality, as does its rugged ABS construction. The SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter is also weatherproof to IP54 and has been CE tested. The rugged, weatherproof design of the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter makes it suitable for use in a variety of rugged, outdoor environments, adding to its versatility.
The SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter also includes an isolated transformer allowing it to be connected to a mains supply via a 3-pin plug connector (max mains rating: 230V AC), again expanding its scope-for-use.
Further to this, the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter includes two modes of operation, Induction and Connection, and low- and high-volume outputs. The low-volume output allows the operator to use the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter in quiet environments, whilst its high-volume output allows the user to establish a better connection tone.
Moreover, the SIGEN 2+ Signal Transmitter features a low-power output and a high-power output. It is possible to change from a low-power output to a high-power output at the flick of a switch. This allows the user to determine a familiar, continuous tone.

100mm Signal Clamp Description
The 100mm Signal Clamp can be used with SIGEN2+ Signal Transmitter and one of TOMKAT S2 or V2 Pipe and Cable Locators to detect and trace buried insulated cables, such as those used by street lights.
Its 100mm diameter ensures that it is able to fit around insulated conductors allowing the user to apply a signal directly and safely to the cable. Furthermore, the 100mm Signal Clamp’s wide diameter means that good contact with a conductor is established without having to remove any insulation.
The 100mm Signal Clamp is operated using the following method:
1.) Plug the bulgin plug into the SIGEN 2+’s connection socket within the accessory compartment
2.) Enclose the clamp’s jaws around the cable-under-investigation, ensuring that the jaws are completely closed
3.) Turn on the SIGEN 2+
4.) Set TOMCAT Pipe and Cable Locators to Genny Mode and trace the cable
The 100mm Signal Clamp is a simple-to-use instrument allowing the user to safely, efficiently and accurately trace insulated cables by applying a signal directly to the conductor.

3-Pin Plug Connector Description
The 3-Pin Plug Connector can be used to apply a signal directly to a mains supply via a domestic socket. This connector features a 2m lead.
